Upcoming changes: #4 one-time purchase

Number 4 of the upcoming changes is the possibility to buy a GoldPriceOneMobile Lifetime Licence. This one-time purchase offers the same PLUS functionality as our subscriptions with one little difference: It's for ever.

As we found out – some of our users don't like a monthly or an annualy subscription for multiple reasons. We heard you and decided to offer an additional one-time payment. Yes it's more expensive than an annual subscription, but it – of course – last longer, it lasts forever.

With any of our PLUS licences you'll get the gold charts view, the gold spread calculator, unlimited gold price alarms, two special types of alarms (moving and tunnel). All future PLUS functionality, features and enhancements are included, too. If you're unsure if GoldPriceOne PLUS is the right choice for you, simply subscribe to the 1 month PLUS subscription (USD 0.99, other countries may vary).

What ever you decide: Every purchase or subscription supports the further development of our apps and is highly appreciated.

Upcoming changes: #3 spread calculator

GoldPriceOneMobiles next update to version 1.3 will also include a much better usage of the spread calculator. We tried to keep it simple but made it hard to use accidently before.

The gold price spread indicator now has a buy/sell picker which reverts the color of the deviation indicator. It's much easier now to see if your deal is good (greenish colors) or bad (yellow, orange, red) from your point of view.

The percentage indicator still has the tap, double tap and tap and hold functions, to increase the deviation by 10 % (tap once), decrease it by 10 % (double tap) and reset it to 0 % (tap and hold). Using the slider you can set the spread to any value between -50 % and 50 %.

The calculated reduced and increased prices are now displayed above the current gold prices for the alloys (values in parentheses). The currency selector still changes and recalculates the gold values currency, while the weight selector still does not recalculate the weight you entered. It still switches between ounces and grams. But this might change in a future update if you think it's useful!

please keep in mind that the indicator only exists to help you making a decision. It's no financial advice

Upcoming changes: #2 alloys lists

With the next update GoldPriceOneMobile will come with a complete redesign of the gold alloy lists on both the price screen and the calculator screen. Although the more modern design cards look bigger and are better to read it's taking less space (or screen estate, if you like).

The gold alloys quick overview shows the value of one ounce or one gram of the most common gold alloys (24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 18, 16, 14, 10 and 8 karats) in your chosen currency (USD, EUR, GPB, CHF, JPY).

Switching to the calculator view not only the current value of various gold alloys is shown, you can of course set the weight (grams or ounces) of the gold you own or intend to buy or sell. Using the spread calculator shows up the reduced or increased alloys value directly above the current market value.

Available currencies are US-Dollar, Euro, Pound Sterling, Swiss Francs and Japanese Yen. Shown gold alloys (gold purities) are: 999.9/24 karat, 965/23 karat, 916/22 karat, 875/21 karat, 833/20 karat, 750/18 karat, 666/16 karat, 585/14 karat, 417/10 karat and 333/8 karat.

Upcoming changes: #1 chart view

Version 1.3 of GoldPriceOne Mobile - our iOS gold price tracker will bring some significant changes. First of all – we updated the gold price chart view. It now has two different view modes, one pretty clean distraction free view without the y-axis labels and without any grid lines. If you prefer the more 'complex' view you can now simply shake your iPhone to switch on the grid and the labels. Shake it again and the view mode will change back.

Also the chart line style has changed for the 24 hours and 7 days time period. It's now shown as a step chart. The other time periods (1 month, 3 and 6 months, 1 year and the year-to-date) charts are still drawn as a beautyfully interpolated line.

To get detailed gold price information for specific time or date, just tap the chart and the gold price for the chosen moment will pop up. And you can of course swipe along the chart to see the exact prices. But please keep in mind that gold prices will always show up as USD per troy ounce.

Finally, some users find it annoying to get a very prominent 'markets close' indicator promted above the chart blocking the view. Well, we changed that too. the markets closed indicator now sits 'behind' the chart. it's less prominent although it's bigger now.

Planned features for the next release

While GoldPriceOne 1.1.1 is still dawdling around in review, we have been considering what might come next.

Our favorites so far are: A widget for iOS and macOS, integration of our own push service - which might be somehow more complicated than we thought it was - just because of data privacy and collecting data.

Some chart features like a 30, 100, 200 day line or something like that.

Then there are some questions that need to be answered: Would it make sense to use GoldPriceOneMobile on the iPad or on Apple Silicon Macs?

Is someone using Apple Vision Pro and would use our gold price info app?

How many days are left until we can extend the historical charts to 1 year (as you might know we do collect the data and host the API ourselves to avoid any 3rd-party dependencies as good as possible)?

What languages should be added to the app? Japanese? Korean? Polish? Schwytzertütsch*? Tons of questions, tons of ideas.

If you have any request and/or better ideas what you'ld like to see with one of the next updates - feel free to drop us an email.

* Yes, that exists and it's one of the four official languages spoken in Switzerland

More improvements with Update 1.1.1

Another sneak peek on our next update to GoldPriceOneMobile our iOS gold price info app. We made some changes to the gold charts view. Most prominent change is the color (this means colour, if you're from the UK) of the chart. It's gray now, because of 'why not'*. Then there will be to tiny circles pulsing within the chart. Those little pulsing racals indicate the lowest gold price (red circle) and the highest gold price (green circle) in the chosen time period.

Finally, there are the two numbers you might be interested in - the chart view lowest price and the highest price of the time period chosen (the picture shows the 6 months time period for historical gold prices).

*Actually it is gray because we think that one can easily spot the direction of the gold price (up or down) from left to right. And if it's neither up nor down - it would be gray anyway.

The best type of gold price alerts these days

Within the last two day the best gold price alert was our self-renewing moving up alert. But what does this type of alert do? Glad you asked!

The moving alert uses the current gold price and you set a percentage margin and decide if you'ld like to be informed when the price drops below this margin or rises above this margin. As soon as the alert's triggered you'll be notified and the alert renews itself with the now new current gold price but the same direction (up or down) and margin.

goldpriceone plus - subscriptions montly or yearlyThe GoldPriceOne moving alerts are the best and most convenient way to watch your gold investment grow.

Unfortunately, moving alerts are a feature only available within our GoldPriceOne PLUS subscription - available as annually or monthly subscription. Luckily pricinge starts as low as USD 0.99 (monthly).

What does GMT mean?

GMT is an abbreviation for Greenwich Mean Time - the time zone London can be found in. And as the gold price is 'calculated/fixed/traded' in London GoldPriceOne uses GMT for the time of the current price.

goldpriceone uses gmt as standard time zone

If you live west of London your local time is earlier than GMT. Living east of London and your local time is later than GMT. But that doesn't really matter for the current price shown in the app. Wherever you live, whatever your local time is, the price shown is what one ounce of fine gold is worth currently on the planet.

Planned feature: Gold Price Chart

Now that both of our gold price alert apps are available in seven languages it's time for a new feature. What could be more interesting than the current gold price or the direction the gold price took?

We think that a chart showing historical data of the last 30 days for example, is a good addition to the app's functionality. GoldPriceOneMobile - our iOS app - will receive the new charting feature first.
