GoldPriceOne and GoldPriceOneMobile features and functions
Gold price display
The main feature of GoldPriceOne is of course the current gold price. The price is displayed on top of the main screen. But it not only shows the London spot price for gold. It also shows the price trend since the last update, whether the market is open or closed, your local time and timezone, London time (GMT) and the time difference between you and London.
You can switch the currency of the spot price to one of five currencies gold is usually traded in. The price is refreshed automatically on a given interval. The gold price can be refreshed manually any time, either by clicking the refresh button (macOS) or by dragging down the screen (iOS).
Gold price alerts
When you own gold it's good to keep an eye on the gold price. It's even better if you get notified when the price reaches a limit you try not to miss. This is the functionality of our apps gold price alerts. The apps offer you the basic above and below a set limits which a pretty useful to take profits or stop losses. Those two are companioned by the moving alert and the tunnel alert. While the moving alert is an auto-renewing either above or below alert with self-adjusting limits, the tunnel alert informs you when the gold price moves outside a specified price corridor.
You can control the alert limits by setting up a specific price (above/below alerts) or a percentage deviation of the current gold price (moving/tunnel alerts). Gold price alerts can be set in all currencies available in GoldPriceOne, not only US Dollars, the main currency of the gold market. GoldPriceOne and GoldPriceOneMobile are using the iOS/macOS system notifications.
Gold price charts
The GoldPriceOne gold price charts give you detailed informations about the price of gold within a selected time period. You can choose between 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and Year-To-Date view. Below the chart the lowest and highest price within the time period is show, next to the percentage deviation.
Starting with version 1.3 of both GoldPriceOne and GoldPriceOneMobile, the charts become interactive showing you the gold price on the clicked or tapped date. Charts are always shown in USD per ounce, as this is the combination that's called standard.
Gold alloys overview
The price of gold is usually shown in US Dollars per 1 ounce of fine gold (24 karats or 999.9 purity). The gold alloys overview will show you the price in the chosen currency for 1 ounce or 1 gram of the most common gold alloys used for coins (i.e. 23 kt or 916 purity) and jewelry (i.e. 18 kt or 750 purity). This provides a rough overview of prices and values.
Gold alloys calculator
To get a more detailed price information of your gold assets GoldPriceOne has an integrated gold price calculator to calculate the value of several alloys. The gold alloy calculator allows you the enter the weight of your physical asset in ounces or grams, select the currency and shows you the exact value of your gold for various gold alloys on the fly.
Price spread calculator
When buying and selling gold the spot market price is merely the basis for negotiations. To know if an offered price is already a good price or rather the starting point for more price talks, the spread calculator provides valuable assistance. You can use it to set the price difference you’re willing to accept or compare the offered prices to the current value of gold and it's alloys. The spread calculator will use a color scale to indicate how the price should be interpreted. Switching between selling and buying will reverse the color indicators.
The spread calculator uses the same input field as the gold assets calculator, this makes it possible to know the exact price for a specific quantity of gold of a particular alloy.
